Animal instincts. [It's interesting to him to think of that. He knows that sometimes when Thrall's in his wolf-form, he loses his sense of being an orc and focuses on being the animal. But to completely lose your sense of self...it's a horrifying thought. Hiro's firmly stuck to the idea that his identity is his identity and that though he can change it to be whatever he wants (a genius, a student, a super hero), it's still his.

It's probably not surprising there's a little bit of sympathy on his face. It's...a mixed sort of feeling. It's the same way he felt about Callaghan in the end. Still does, if he's being honest. Do people deserve to die? No...well. It depends. Generally speaking if Hiro were asked that question he'd say no. But there are things that have happened here, darker times settling in. It's just another conflict and it makes him remember something Jason told him a long, long time ago. Back when they first met.

'I don't know what defines superheroes where you come from, but it's the willingness to not end someone's life. But you've heard it from 'em, haven't you? The imps. At the end of the day, that mindset won't fit here. Hell, they'd be lost.'

Even after more than a year here, he can't decide where he really stands on the issue. But at least he can answer Merida's question in regards to the subject at hand.]

No. [He shakes his head slowly like he's being careful with his words.] Killing Callaghan wouldn't bring Tadashi back. And Tadashi wouldn't have wanted it to happen that way. [He sucks his lower lip between his teeth, gnashing it for a moment.] I tried to kill him at first, but in the end my team and I stopped him from ending another man's life and I saved his daughter. ["I." He made the reckless decision to take Baymax and jump through the portal to...do Callaghan a favor? It wouldn't have been right to leave her. Not when they had a chance to save her. He might not have been able to save Tadashi, but he could try to make up for it little by little.] He's in jail now. I don't know how long his sentence is but no matter the outcome the past would have stayed the same.

[Tadashi would still be gone.]

And that's why I'm not sure I really belong here even after all this time.
