[Hey, he'd been younger at the time and assumed that because he loved the wading pool Aunt Cass had set up on the rooftop garden for him, obviously Mochi would love it, too. At the time he'd been very upset that Mochi was upset and Aunt Cass had scolded him but now he can look on it and laugh.
In a way, it surprises him how easily he can talk to Merida despite not seeing her for months at a time. He can't quite pinpoint what it really is, but there's something that sets him at ease and...almost makes him feel like this is home. It's something calming about her and yet something that loosens the heavy knot in his chest knowing that there's somebody who gets the idea of adventure and having a rambunctious streak. It's almost a shame just how much he'd been babied as a kid and almost laughable now thinking about how a year ago he'd thought he was so tough and knew what he was doing. It took a lot of trial and error, losing people and making mistakes to make him realize he needed to slow down and learn.]
Sure. I think I have time for that. [And even if he didn't he would make time. His tone made that clear.] I...can probably learn how to take down deer and stuff later.
